Guadalupe (Lupe) García Peñalver was born in Barcelona, Spain, where she obtained a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Education. She taught Music, Spanish, and English as a foreign language in middle school and is also a professional accordionist, having studied in the Barcelona Conservatory of Music, and in Germany, England, and the United States.



Lupe came to the US in the year 2000 to teach Spanish in the Stamford (CT) public schools. It was during this period that she began to paint and write poetry. She is currently writing a book which combines her paintings with her deepest thoughts.
